Ventura May Leave Office Early

Gov. Jesse Ventura (I) said "the thought has occurred to him" that he could install Minnesota's first female governor "by leaving office a few days early," the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports. "Ventura, who is not seeking re-election, is scheduled to leave office when the new governor takes office in early January. But he said he has mused about voluntarily stepping down a few days early and making Lt. Gov. Mae Schunk the governor until the new man takes office."
