Dean Leads In Close Florida Race

"Three presidential challengers are in a close race to claim the hearts of Florida Democrats, but a new poll shows the race is wide open," the St. Petersburg Times reports. Howard Dean leads with 16 percent, with Sen. Joe Lieberman and Wesley Clark right behind at 15 percent.

Meanwhile, all nine Democrats "are expected at the Florida Democratic Convention in the Orlando area" this weekend, the AP reports. "Instead of a straw poll, the Democrats agreed to appear in forums that will let delegates pose questions to the candidates and quiz them on important issues."
