Andrew Kohut and Harry Campbell have an interesting op-ed in today's New York Times: "By most measures prospects for George W. Bush's re-election look very good. No single indicator guarantees a second term, of course, but on balance the president's numbers are as good if not better than those of the three presidents who won second terms in recent times."
But they obviously didn't look at today's CBS News/New York Times poll: "When given a choice between an unnamed Democrat and Mr. Bush, 43 percent of the registered voters polled said they would vote for Mr. Bush, while 45 percent said they would vote for the Democrat."
