Kerry Holds Huge Leads In Next Week's Key States

Sen. John Kerry "holds substantial leads in the two states that have the largest number of delegates at stake, Missouri and Arizona," according to a new MSNBC/Reuters Zogby tracking poll.
  • In Missouri, Kerry has "a commanding lead" over other democratic contenders. Kerry has 45 percent, Sen. John Edwards is in second place at 11%, followed by Howard Dean at 9%.

  • In Arizona, Kerry has another huge lead (38%) over other democratic contenders. Clark is in second place with 17%, followed by Dean with 12%. Sen. Joe Lieberman and Edwards are in a tie for fourth place with 4% each.

  • In South Carolina, Edwards "is in a dead heat lead over red hot" Kerry at 25% to 24%. Dean is in third place at 9%, followed closely by Clark at 8%.

  • In Oklahoma, Clark leads the pack with 27%, followed by Kerry at 19%. Edwards is in third at 17%, followed by Dean at 9%.
