Howard Dean says that "even if he loses Wisconsin's Feb. 17 primary he will remain in the race for the 2004 Democratic presidential nomination," Reuters reports.
The New York Times reports that Dean acknowledged "that it was an 'obvious contradiction' from his fund-raising e-mail message to supporters last week saying he would be 'out of the race' unless he won Wisconsin."
The Washington Post says Dean reached decision gradually over the last few days -- "without a decision meeting or extensive discussion with his staff or family."
With Dean staying in -- and Edwards and Clark promising the same -- Jerome Armstrong predicts a brokered convention.
