According to the Washington Post, Sen. John Kerry seems to be taking Richard Wirthlin's advice and is "intent on not repeating what many Democrats consider one of Gore's biggest mistakes of 2000: springtime complacency."
"Kerry is planning a nonstop eight-month general election campaign that relies heavily on his Vietnam War record and the financial firepower of outside Democratic groups early on... Indeed, Kerry is planning little rest in the weeks ahead."
The Boston Globe says Kerry "has asked his staff to begin the process of selecting a running mate, and that one may be named by late spring in order to unify the party and share campaign responsibilities."
