The Clarke Effect II

The latest Rasmussen Tracking Poll shows Sen. John Kerry at 48%, President Bush at 44%, and "some other candidate" at 4%.

"Data from the past two days makes it clear that the recent news cycle is taking a toll on the President's numbers. Today's figures represent a net decline of seven points for the President in the past three days."

In addition, Bush's job approval ratings "have fallen to their lowest level of the year."
