President Bush and Sen. John Kerry "are deadlocked 42% to 42% in a test election among Pennsylvania registered voters," according to the latest IssuesPA/Pew Poll. Ralph Nader attracts 5% of voters and 11% "are undecided or prefer someone else."
Says pollster Larry Hugick: "Considering the timing of the poll, a tie is a better sign for Kerry than it is for Bush. After a major advertising blitz by the Bush campaign in Pennsylvania and other battleground states, the race has not turned the President's way in Pennsylvania."
Update: A Political Wire reader notes that tonight's Senate primary is a test of the Bush campaign's get-out-the-vote operation in Pennsylvania. Bush is backing Sen. Arlen Specter over Rep. Pat Toomey.
