Bush Approval Continues Slide

President Bush’s job approval rating "dropped to 42%-- a record low for his administration and a drop of six points from last month," according to a new Zogby International poll.

If the election were held today, Kerry would get 47% to Bush's 42%. "While Kerry shows no change over the past month, Bush drops two-points."

Meanwhile, a new Newsweek poll also shows Bush's approval ratings have dropped to their lowest level of his presidency. The poll, however, "shows a dead heat in a two-way race between Bush and Kerry." Bush gets 45%, Kerry gets 46%.

Update: Kerry topped Bush 51% to 46% in a new Time/CNN poll, "one day after a separate survey showed a majority of Americans for the first time disapprove of Bush's leadership."
