Newspaper Hosts Candidate Blogs

The Herald-Sun in Durham, North Carolina, has offered all candidates in local elections the opportunity to have a weblog hosted by the newspaper.

Update: Andrew Cline makes an interesting observation: "No self-respecting newspaper would turn over its pages to politicians beyond what's standard practice for the op-ed section. But the Internet is almost an unlimited resource, nearly unconstrained by the old-media limitations of time and space."

Taegan D. Goddard is the creator of Political Wire, a political column updated around the clock with the most interesting news, buzz and commentary.
