The Catholic Swing Vote

As we noted earlier, the Catholic vote is up for grabs. A new Time poll confirms this, showing Sen. John Kerry and President Bush running even among Catholics. But it also has this shocker: "Only 33% of Americans know that John Kerry is a Catholic."

"The complex poll numbers have the Bush campaign nervous because they believe more Catholic voters may swing toward Kerry as Election Day nears and his religion becomes more widely known," the New York Daily News notes.
