In Texas, Republicans Urge Bushies To Run

Republican insiders are encouraging Secretary of Commerce Don Evans to run for governor in Texas, the Houston Chronicle reports, though the newspaper notes that Gov. Rick Perry (R) "plans to seek a second full term in 2006."

Meanwhile, the Austin American-Statesman notes that Bush-Cheney '04 chief strategist Matthew Dowd may run for Texas state comptroller.
