Convention Notes

Political Wire sources tell us that Sen. John Kerry will continue the boat/captain theme of last night and on Wednesday night will travel from Boston's Logan Airport to the Charlestown Navy Yard by boat with several of his former Navy crewmates.

Joe Trippi still can't get into the Fleet Center. "I mean I know I wasn’t on the winning team but you would think I could at least get into the big house and wander around the nosebleed section."

Dan Conley runs a nice review of Trippi's The Revolution Will Not Be Televised.

Jonathan Last notes that, after his speech last night, former President Carter "repaired to small box behind my workstation" with his wife Rossalyn and Fahrenheit 9/11's Michael Moore.

According to the AP, Maryland Democratic Party leaders "are hoping to hear from a member of their delegation who has not arrived at the party's national convention in Boston." Dawn Flythe "was expected to check in Monday for her convention credentials" but when staffers tried to call her they "found that her home telephone had been disconnected."

Here are tonight's featured speakers:
  • 8:15 pm: Sen. Ted Kennedy
  • 9:30 pm: Barack Obama
  • 10:00 pm: Ron Reagan
  • 10:20 pm: Teresa Heinz Kerry
