Actor Ben Affleck told the Boston Herald "he has an interest in politics but deflected questions about whether he would run for the Senate if Kerry leaves an open seat by winning the White House."
"But the actor obviously has been paying attention to the potential race. He noted that likely candidate U.S. Rep. Martin T. Meehan has raised the most money and has more than $3 million in the bank, and that Rep. Edward Markey had the second largest warchest."
Meanwhile, the Boston Globe notes Massachusetts legislators voted to strip Gov. Mitt Romney (R) of his power to choose a replacement for Kerry if he wins the White House.
