A group called Swift Boat Veterans for Truth "was set to launch a 60-second ad today" in the swing states of Wisconsin, Ohio and West Virginia claiming that Sen. John Kerry "had lied about his war record, had engineered the injuries that led to combat medals and was unfit to be commander in chief," the Los Angeles Times reports.
Glenn Reynolds saw the ad and says Kerry "played right into this with all the stuff about Vietnam and medals."
Update: Sen. John McCain, "a former prisoner of war in Vietnam, called an ad criticizing John Kerry's military service 'dishonest and dishonorable' and urged the White House on Thursday to condemn it as well," the AP reports.
