Bush Loses Adviser on Catholic Vote

Deal Hudson, the "architect of a Republican effort to court Catholic voters," is leaving the Bush campaign because of "a Catholic newspaper's investigation into accusations of sexual misconduct involving a female student at a college where he once taught," according to the New York Times. A spokesperson at Fordham University "confirmed that the episode had led to Mr. Hudson's resignation."

Meanwhile, the Washington Post notes ten teachers "of Christian ethics at leading seminaries and universities have written a letter to President Bush criticizing his campaign's outreach to churches, particularly its effort to gather church membership directories."
