Democrats Beat Republicans in Fundraising

"The Democratic National Committee raised $390 million through late November while the Republican National Committee raised $385 million, yet another sign of how Democrats made great strides to keep pace financially with Republicans in the election this year," the New York Times reports.

The AP notes the Democratic total "is noteworthy in part because the DNC had been operating at a multimillion-dollar disadvantage."

The Washington Post looked at "all sources seeking to influence the outcome" and found "at least $925 million was spent in support of" Sen. John Kerry "and $822 million in support of President Bush."
