With Bernard Kerik pulling his nomination as Secretary of Homeland Security, the Wall Street Journal notes President Bush "could cross party lines and offer the slot to a prominent Democrat, Connecticut Sen. Joseph Lieberman, an early proponent -- over initial White House objections -- of creating the department."
Bloomberg notes Lieberman is getting bipartisan support for the job on Capitol Hill.
Meanwhile, the Hartford Courant notes Lieberman is mum though he's "not denying sources' reports that he's been approached to join the Bush team."
