GOP Wants Giuliani vs. Clinton

The New York State Republican Party chairman said "that he planned to ask" Rudy Giuliani (R) to run against Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-NY) "in 2006, even while Mr. Giuliani's camp hinted that he had no desire to take on that race," the New York Times reports.

Gov. George Pataki (R) has also indicated "he is unlikely to challenge Mrs. Clinton."
