Franken to Run for Senate

Just one day after Sen. Mark Dayton (D-MN) decided not to run for a second term, Political Wire has learned that comedian Al Franken will announce his intention to run for the seat on his radio show this morning. KSTP-TV has more.

Update: Perhaps it was just a publicity trick. The AP reports that at the end of his radio show today, Franken finally said he won't run for Senate. He "left open the possibility of a 2008 run, saying if he challenges Coleman he will move back to Minnesota."
