GOP Splintering on Social Security

"While Democrats remained united in their opposition to President Bush's efforts to restructure Social Security, there were signs of cracks in the Republicans' support for the president," the Washington Post reports.

Note to Karl Rove: That's why they call it "the third rail" of American politics.
