Hutchison Will Not Challenge Perry

Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-TX) "won't be running for governor in 2006," the AP reports. "Her campaign announced Friday night that Hutchison will be seeking reelection to the Senate."

But the Dallas Morning News confirms an earlier report that Texas Gov. Rick Perry (R) will face a primary nonetheless as Comptroller Carole Keeton Strayhorn (R) announced her bid for the Republican gubernatorial nomination.
