Report: Cheney Taken to Cardiac Unit

Vice President Dick Cheney "was taken to the cardiac unit of the Vail Valley Medical Center Friday," the Huffington Post reports. Contrary to AP reports that he went to see an orthopedic surgeon for a knee injury, Cheney "passed through the Steadman Hawkins clinic and the Colorado Mountain Medical Center to get to the cardiac unit to see Dr. Jack Eck and his team. The Vice President checked into the hospital under the name of Dr. Hoffman."

Taegan D. Goddard is the founder of Political Wire, one of the earliest and most influential political web sites.

Goddard earned degrees from Vassar College and Harvard University. He lives in New York with his wife and three sons.
