Biden Urges Consensus Nominee

Sen. Joe Biden (D-DE), "who chaired the Senate Judiciary Committee during some of its most contentious Supreme Court nomination fights, is calling on President Bush to choose a nominee who could win the unanimous support of both parties, not one who will split the Senate along partisan lines," the Wilmington News-Journal reports.

"Biden, who is considering a presidential bid in 2008, has launched an online petition drive calling for a 'consensus candidate' to replace retiring Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor."
