McCain vs. Clinton?

Time says that if the 2008 presidential campaign were held today, it would be Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) against Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-NY). However, "no one would know better than McCain and Clinton how many uncertainties and treacheries lie ahead and how important it is to keep their own options open as long as they can."
