Tennessee Lawmakers Signal Leadership Bids

"Two Tennessee Congress members said they are seeking leadership positions in the U.S. Senate and House in 2006," the Chattanooga Times Free Press reports. Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-TN) said "he hopes to win the Senate Republican leadershipís second-highest post."

Meanwhile, Rep. Zach Wamp (R-TN) "said he talked to Republicans on Wednesday about running for House majority whip."
