Hotline On Call notes that Rep. Tom Reynolds (R-NY), head of the House Republican campaign effort, "sent an eleven page memo to the House GOP conference this a.m. urging them not to worry: their control of the House and their prospects for 2006 are in good shape."
Specifically, he claims Democrats have not been successful (so far) in nationalizing the midterm elections. "There is no indication that Democrats today are anywhere close to formulating an equivalent message to what Republicans had in 1994."
However, he ignores the fact we highlighted before: In 1994, Republicans laid out their "Contract with America" just six weeks before the election.
The bottom line: Sending a memo saying you're not worried means you're worried.
