Deja Vu: Bush Hits New Lows

It's getting to be old news, but President Bush's poll numbers have hit new lows in yet another poll. This time it's the Pew Research Center survey that finds "public satisfaction with national conditions" at just 29%. "And for the first time since taking office in 2001, a plurality of Americans believe that George W. Bush will be viewed as an unsuccessful president."

Bush's overall job approval rating sunk to 38%, a new low for the poll. "And on a number of issues, ranging from the federal budget deficit to relations with U.S. allies, majorities or pluralities say that Bush's policies have made things worse, not better."

Earlier this week, Bush hit new lows in the Fox News and WSJ/NBC News polls.

But there is also bad news for Democats: "While Bush and his party are struggling, the Democratic Party continues to be viewed in the same negative light as the Republicans. Only about third (32%) approve of the job Democratic leaders in Congress are doing, while the same number has a positive view of Republican congressional leaders (32%)."
