"The Virginia governor's race is heading toward a photo finish," with Tim Kaine (D) holding a 1-percentage-point lead over Jerry Kilgore (R) in the latest Richmond Times-Dispatch Poll, "well within the poll's 4-percentage-point margin of error."
Kaine is pulling 45%; Kilgore, 44%. Independent Russell Potts has faded to 4%.
Meanwhile, a new Rasmussen Reports survey shows Kaine with a 3% lead over Kilgore.
Yesterday, we noted a poll that showed Kaine with a solid lead. It appears to be the outlier, however. Nearly every other poll shows the race fairly tight.
