Coleman Drops Bid for Ohio Governor

Columbus Mayor Michael Coleman (D) quit the race for Ohio governor, "saying that he wants to spend more time with his family, which has undergone trauma in recent months," the Columbus Dispatch reports.

Hotline On Call: "That would seem to be a boost to the only other major Dem in the race, Rep. Ted Strickland, allowing him plenty of time to watch the three GOP candidates duke it out before the May 2nd primary."

However, the Cleveland Plain Dealer says talk show host Jerry Springer and state Sen. Eric Fingerhut are also considering a run for the Democratic nomination.
