Sen. Conrad Burns' (R-MT) lead over two Democrats "has eroded, with a majority of Montana voters voicing concern over his taking campaign funds from indicted lobbyist Jack Abramoff's clients," a new Billings Gazette State Poll shows.
Montana voters favor Burns over John Morrison (D) by a 46% to 40% margin, with 14% undecided. In May, Burns was ahead of Morrisson, 49% to 34%.
Burns leads the other top Democrat in the race, Jon Tester (D), by a 49% to 35% margin, with 16% undecided. In May, the poll showed Burns over Tester by a 50% to 26%.
