A new Pew Research poll finds Americans paying little attention to the Jack Abramoff scandals, Alito confirmation or domestic eavesdropping revelations. "Ratings for Republican and Democratic congressional leaders "remain low, and neither party has gained or lost ground as being better able to manage the federal government or to govern honestly and ethically."
In addition, President Bush's approval rating "has not changed since December (38% approve/54% disapprove)."
However, the Democratic Party "holds a sizable advantage over the GOP as the party better able to handle the country's most important problem" -- dealing with the war in Iraq. "Fully 41% believe the Democratic Party can do a better job of handling the nation's top problem, compared with 27% who say the Republican Party."
