Americans Ready for Woman President

A new CBS News/New York Times poll has found that Americans would vote for a qualified woman for president by a margin of 92% to 5%. Despite this seemingly overwhelming support, when asked if America was ready for a woman president, only 55% of respondents believed so. However, this number is up from 48% in 1999 and 40% in 1996.

Interesting tidbit: ìMen are actually more likely than women to say the country is ready for a woman to be president.î
