Alabama Gov. Bob Riley (R) "holds single digit leads over two Democrats who want his job," according to the latest Rasmussen Reports poll.
Riley leads Lt. Governor Lucy Baxley (D), 47% to 40%, the favorite to win the Democratic nomination.
However, Riley is also being challenged by former Gov. Don Siegelman (D). In that re-match, Riley has a nine point advantage, 49% to 40%. Siegelman is fighting an indictment on federal charges of bribery, extortion and racketeering.
CQ Politics suggests Riley has been weakened by ties to Jack Abramoff.
