Americans Slightly In Favor of Censure Proposal

An American Research Group survey finds that 46% of Americans favor censuring President Bush "for authorizing wiretaps of Americans within the United States without obtaining court orders," while 44% oppose the move.

Interestingly, 42% of Americans favor Bush's impeachment by the House of Representatives, while 49% oppose it.

Pollster Dick Bennett emails: "Respondents view censure and impeachment differently as 21% of those who favor censure oppose impeachment, while 12% of those who oppose censure favor impeachment. Also, 29% of Republicans favor censure, but only 18% of Republicans favor impeachment."
