"California lawmakers are considering a plan that could put the state in a race with New Hampshire to have the earliest Presidential primary,"
according to the AP. "The bill would require California's secretary of state to schedule the election as early as Jan. 2 in Presidential election years and conduct it by mail."
However, as previously noted, New Hampshire has insisted that its first-of-the-nation primary status will not be usurped without a fight.
