Three-way Showdown in CA-50

According to Hotline On Call, Eric Roach (R) "is setting the stage for a rematch" in CA 50 against ex-Rep. Brian Bilbray (R), who narrowly defeated him in a crowded special election two weeks agoÖHis decision will reverberate heavily in CA 50, where there will be two ballots on 6/6 -- one pitting Dem Francine Busby against Bilbray; another for the full-term GOP nomination in 11/06.î

Roach, who lost by less than 1000 votes, has received the endorsement of third place finisher Howard Kaloogian, who received over 10,000 votes in the special election. How Roachís candidacy will affect the June election remains to be seen, but it is very possible that Bilbray could win the special election but lose his seatís primary, giving him a seven month term in Congress.
