Generic Democrat Beats Generic Republican in 2008

According to a new Newsweek poll, 50% of Americans prefer a generic Democratic candidate for president in 2008, while only 31% chose a generic Republican candidate. Perhaps most importantly, Independents preferred a Democratic candidate to a Republican candidate by an almost 2-to-1 margin.
