In New Jersey, Menendez Moves in Front

In New Jersey's competitive U.S. Senate race, a new Rutgers-Eagleton Poll shows Sen. Robert Menendez (D) leading challenger Tom Kean, Jr. (R) among likely voters, 46% to 42%, "in a race where voters hold negative political and personal views of both candidates."

Key findings: 42% of likely voters view Menendez unfavorably, up from 27% last month while 34% hold an unfavorable view of Kean, up from 21% last month.

A new Fairleigh Dickinson PublicMind poll shows Menendez with a ten-point lead, 48% to 38%.

Key findings: "Voters are also more likely to say now that neither candidate is honest: 24% now, compared to 16% month ago."
