In Alaska, Stevens Will Run Again

Sen. Ted Stevens (R-AK) "announced yesterday that he will be running for re-election in 2008 at the age of 84," reports CQ Politics.

Stevens, who was appointed to the Senate in 1968, "currently is the 10th longest-serving senator in history. Next month, he will pass Louisiana Democrat Russell Long (1948-87) in all-time Senate service, and in January he will pass Georgia Democrat Richard Russell (1933-71)."
