McKinney Eyes Green Party Ticket in 2008

Former Rep. Cynthia McKinney (D-GA), arrested in 2006 for striking a Capitol Hill police officer, is said to be considering a bid as the Green Partyís presidential candidate in 2008, according to the Ballot Access News newsletter.

McKinney was a featured speaker at the Green Party Convention this past July and the Green Party has been helping to retire her 2006 campaign debt. The Green Party nominating convention will be held in Chicago in July 2008.

She was considered for the party's presidential ticket four years ago but ultimately won a comeback race for the U.S. House of Representatives only to lose her seat once again in 2006.
