There's nothing new about doing a Friday evening "news dump" to get facts out about embarrassing stories. In an interview with the Chicago Tribune, Sen. Barack Obama admitted his ties to indicted developer Tony Rezko were deeper than previously acknowledged. And in three different television interviews last night, Obama spoke about his relationship with his retiring pastor and outgoing spiritual adviser, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, to make clear that he disagreed with Wright's anti-American statements.
What is new, is how the Obama campaign is urging viral distribution of a video he made rejecting Wright's views. As Ben Smith notes, Obama urges supporters at the end of the video message to forward it to their friends.
