Rice Eyes Ticket?

Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice "has been campaigning to be John McCain's running mate," the New York Daily News reports. "Rice has been courting the Republican elite, Dan Senor, a political strategist and former foreign-policy adviser to President Bush, said on ABC's This Week."

However, the New York Times says that if Rice has been campaigning to be McCain's running mate, McCain himself says he had not noticed.

Said McCain: "I missed those signals."
