Sen. Barack Obama and Sen. Hillary Clinton "yesterday prepped for
tonight's Philadelphia debate as Obama and his backers expressed a
desire to get beyond the flap over his remarks about small-town
Pennsylvania and address issues of substance," the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
The debate will be telecast nationally by ABC News starting at 8 p.m. "It's the first such encounter between the two Democratic candidates
in nearly two months and is likely to draw the largest audience of the
political season."
The Politico notes both candidates have different goals tonight. "With limited opportunities to alter the direction of the race, Clinton
must aim to take advantage of the spotlight and continue to cast doubt
about Obama's electability in November." Meanhwhile, Obama "will have to lure back voters who may grown uneasy with
his candidacy."
