Barred Libertarian Candidate Backs Murphy

Libertarian congressional candidate Eric Sundwall, who was pushed off the NY-20 ballot after being challenged by Jim Tedisco (R), endorsed Scott Murphy (D) in Tuesday's special election, the Albany Times Union reports.

Said Sundwall: "Mr. Tedisco denies any involvement with the concerted effort by his supporters to knock me off the ballot. I don't believe him. The ruthless effort by his supporters to knock me off the ballot without a word of protest by him proves his unfitness for any office let alone Congress in these critical times."

In the last Siena poll, Sundwall was supported by just two percent of the district's likely voters. However, it's believed that Sundwall draws equally from both Republicans and Democrats, so it's unclear how his absence from the ballot will change the race.

Eye on 2010 has more on the race.
