Palin Will Not Challenge Murkowski

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) will raise money for the re-election campaign of Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK), "and hopes to end speculation she might challenge Murkowski in the primary for the U.S. Senate next year," the Anchorage Daily News reports.

"Fueling the speculation is the fact that Palin's term as governor is up in 2010, and she hasn't said if she plans to run for re-election."

A recent poll showed Murkowski is viewed more favorably than Palin among Alaskan voters.

Taegan D. Goddard is the founder of Political Wire, one of the earliest and most influential political web sites.
