Tulsa World reports Sen. Tom Coburn (R-OK) will make an announcement regarding his political future on June 1. Lackluster fundraising has led many to believe he's not going to run for re-election.
Meanwhile, the full results of the Public Policy Polling survey we reported yesterday are now out. While they show Coburn essentially unbeatable if he runs again, there could be a competitive race if he retires and Democrats can recruit a top tier candidate.
In particular, two candidates -- Oklahoma Gov. Brad Henry (D) and Rep. Dan Boren (D-OK) -- could run a close race.
