Christie Leading in Race to Challenge Corzine

There are two new polls out this morning showing Chris Christie (R) on his way to victory in the New Jersey Republican gubernatorial primary on June 2.

Monmouth: Christie 50%, Lonegan 32%, Merkt 2%

Quinnipiac: Christie 56%, Lonegan 33%, Merkt 2%

Meanwhile, in a general election match up, Quinnipiac shows Christie maintaining a solid seven point lead over Gov. Jon Corzine (D) in a general election match up, 45% to 38%. Lonegan also leads Corzine, but by a smaller margin, 42% to 40%.
