Democrats Face Revolt in Albany

Democrats appeared in jeopardy of losing their majority in the New York State Senate "in what would be a stunning and sudden reversal of fortunes for a party that has controlled the chamber for barely five months," the New York Times reports.

According to the Albany Times Union, Republicans have convinced two Democrats to switch sides and caucus with the GOP.

Why the two senators suddenly defected was not immediately clear.
