McAuliffe Goes After Deeds

The Richmond Times Dispatch has one more sign that Creigh Deeds (D) has become the front runner in Virginia's Democratic primary race for governor, noting that Terry McAuliffe (D) is "training his guns" on Deeds "in the finale to tomorrow's Democratic gubernatorial primary, saying Deeds' pro-firearms stance makes him unelectable against Republican Bob McDonnell."

"Deeds, meanwhile, is using automated phone calls to Northern Virginia voters to fend off attacks by McAuliffe" and Brian Moran, accusing the pair of "lying about [his] voting record" as a state senator.

The latest polls show Deeds opening up a wide lead.
